I first met Global Speaker Lizzie Velasquez when I spearheaded the PR campaign for the TEDx Summit where she gave her now famous "How Do You Define Yourself?" speech. Our small, inaugural TEDxAustinWomen event ultimately became TEDWomen's #1 livestream of 2013 out of over 220 events, across 58 countries. After TED, I began to represent Lizzie for all of her personal PR and speaking engagements and I also served a Producer and Head of Worldwide Publicity for "A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story," a documentary following the inspiring journey of 25 year old, 58-pound Lizzie from cyber-bullying victim to anti-bullying activist. The film, which was shot in the U.S., the U.K. and Mexico, premiered at SXSW in 2015 where it won the Audience Award and went on to win top honors at every single festival it played thereafter. The film is on iTunes, DVD, and Amazon Video in over 12 languages.

From 1998-2001, I worked at SXSW in various capacities. Having started as a volunteer and working my way up to a Full Time Staff Member, I assisted in the selection of films, edited interactive marketing materials and supervised music events. After moving to Los Angeles, I continued to return each year and served as a Publicity Mentor to attending filmmakers and in 2014, I was hired as a Talent Relations Consultant where I spearheaded red carpet premieres, which included events for Selena Gomez, Zac Efron, Jared Leto, Kristen Bell, James Franco, Seth Rogan and filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Joss Whedon.

At AYS World Sports Marketing, I was Executive Director of PR and Interactive Marketing where I spearheaded campaigns and logistics for marquee events "Taste of Tennis," "Celebrity Chef Tennis Challenge," and "Party with the Pros" in New York City and Melbourne. For these one of a kind events, world renowned chefs are paired with top tennis players who cook and serve together for attending guests.  Chefs have included Emeril Lagasse, Rachel Ray, Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, Jonathan Waxman and Marcus Samuelson, who previously cooked for President Obama twice. Tennis participants include Serena WilliamsRafael Nadal, Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Maria Sharapova and Andy Murray,  among others. The event has also featured exclusive DJ sets by athletes Venus Williams and Victoria Azarenka.

As Head of Publicity & Partnerships, I spearheaded the PR campaign for TEDxAustinWomen (#1 TEDWomen Event of 2013) and nurtured strategic partnerships with global leaders such as the United Nations Foundation. Women Rising also produced the award-winning documentary, "A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story," of which I was a Producer and Head of Publicity. As part of the feature film's campaign to raise awareness of the growing epidemic while finding productive solutions to bullying, I helped produce our "High Road Movement" campaign as well as the “I’m with Lizzie” Influencers Against Bullying Campaign featuring Katie Couric, Chris Hemsworth, America Ferrera, the World Champion Golden State Warriors, Kylie Jenner, Zachary Quinto, Kristen Bell, Hilary Duff, Sara Bareilles and Kasey Musgraves among others.

Following the success of “A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story” I re-teamed with its filmmakers - Director/Producer Sara Bordo and Executive Producer Alexis Jones - for another Women Rising Production. ProtectHer is a first-of-its-kind sexual assault prevention program. By activating the influence of male athletes and redefining "locker room talk," this film and curriculum series looks to be a solution in helping safeguard girls on campus. I served as Associate Producer on the docu-series, which was created by Alexis Jones and Directed and Produced by Sara Hirsh Bordo.

The third time I teamed with Women Rising Productions it was for the 2018 United State of Women Summit where Former First Lady Michelle Obama was the keynote speaker. Brough on to help raise awareness of the event, which Women Rising produced, I served as a Strategy and PR Consultant and secured press in addition to facilitating introductions to thought leaders and key influencers.
